Sooo I saw John and Hank Green at the Tour de Nerdfighting 2012. It was absolutely amazing. I had so much fun. I saw them in the flesh! My friend bought me a ticket to see them for christmas. We went on Wednesday, into NYC. I recorded it all so you can go on my Youtube to see them all if you would like.

I finished TFIOS (The Fault in Our Starts) today, this morning. It was so good. Definitely John Green's best work so far. Although, I quite enjoyed An Abundance of Katherines. 
John Green has inspired me to write a book. I'm sort of doing that. I just don't have the time and I'm in a kinda writer's block. HEY. The Fault in Our Stars took John Green 13 years to write. So.

It's John Green Week!

Okay. Yeah It has been for the past 5 days.. but I sort of forgot.. maybe. No, don't get me wrong. I didn't forget out The Fault in Our Stars. I've been keeping up with my Vlogbrothers videos. Here, you can watch the author read Chapter One of TFIOS.

On Wednesday, my friend got me a ticket to go to John Green's book signing (Hank's gonna be there too!) I'm very excited.

Am I the only one who thinks at least one of John Green's books should be a movie?

I just finished watching John Green read the first chapter of TFIOS on Youtube. And I have to say. I am impressed and very excited. Normally, John Green seems to have the same sort of basic plot. But this one is different and it's really good.

John Green is a really good writer and he has inspired me to write my own story (I'm working on it! I just don't have any time. and I'm stuck. soooo.. after my midterm exams I'll do that.) Love you John Green! See you on Wednesday. DFTBA.

The Holidays are Upon Us

Hi. As you very well know, it's the holiday season (for most of us at least). Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, New Years. It's so exciting. Personally, I celebrate Christmas. However, in my home, it is about the act of giving gifts, not "the birth of Christ".
I love giving gifts to people. It's a wonderful feeling. Today, I spent an hour wrapping presents.
And, for the first time in my life (of what I can remember), I built a gingerbread house with my dad. A German tradition that somehow brought it's way over to the United States. I have to say ours turned out absolutely gorgeous.

The story of Hansel and Gretel in a nut shell (according to Wikipedia): "Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a cannibalistic hag living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her."
To be honest, I thought the story ended poorly. Doesn't the witch put them in the oven and bake them?

Anyhoo, being the lovely, humorous human being that I am. I decided to make my gingerbread house a little more barbaric than most children do theirs.

We have the witch standing on the roof watching Hansel and Gretel suffer. a cat/dog broken in half on a tree. Hansel hanging by his feet. Gretel sideways over the doorway.

Yes. Those are indeed goldfish crackers. We like to pretend that the witch is drying her fish on her roof.

St. Andrew's Day

"St. Andrew’s Day A deep-rooted Polish tradition - the celebration of Andrzejki is celebrated on the night of the 30th of November."

What you do: Pour hot wax into cold water and then after the wax cools, you take it out and put a flashlight behind it to create a shadow. Then you say what you see in the shadow and you explain what you think that could mean about your upcoming year.

Can with hot wax. Into bowl with cold water.

For example, for this one: 

I saw the tree from the Lion King. When I turned it, I saw an elephant and a butterfly. I figured that it meant I would be doing a lot of traveling this year (WHICH IS VERY TRUE) I should have taken a picture of the shadow to show you.

For this one:

 

I saw a man wearing a turban smoking hookah. I have no idea why. But I did. from EVERY angle, no matter which way I turned it.

Thanksgiving '11

For the first time, Thanksgiving was held at my house. Usually it's at my grandparents house with my entire intermediate family. However, it was decided that from now on it would just be my immediate family ( Mom, Dad, and my siblings) at our house. My mother made everything from scratch and it was all very delicious. Three days of cooking was definitely worth it!

Perfect Mommy. Thanks for a beautiful Thanksgiving.

I love Doctor Who.
I love Star Wars.

I love reading.
I am a nerdfighter (If you don't know what that is, click anywhere in this sentence.)

I absolutely love all those things but I would have to say that Doctor Who is my favorite. Or at least I have became the most obsessed with. It never gets boring and it is so much pretty popular.
